McTaggart Research Aotearoa specializes in both qualitative and quantitative social research and analysis. Stephen holds an Honorary Academic position at the Faculty of Arts at The University of Auckland. He also holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Auckland and more than 20 years of research experience. His work with communities is guided by the tenets of kaupapa Māori research. He often collaborates with other social and physical scientists, kaumātua and kuia and Māori academics and researchers.
